Bonobo's Vegetarian

I am not a huge raw food fan but I have changed my mind after eating a fabulous lunch at Bonobo's Vegetarian cafe. I got an organic vegetable burger made from nuts and raw veggies which had amazing flavour and texture. The burger was served on mixed greens with a choice of five raw vegetables and a basil dressing. I also got sime Gingeraid made from lime juice, freshly grated ginger and nectar from the agave plant. It was refreshing and had the perfect level of sweetness. The best part of this meal was that I was not hungry again till the evening and did not crave my 4pm chocolate bar that day!

hi sandeep
you are right that nectar from the agave plant become tequila but it has to go through fermentation before it turns into alcohol so i wasn't quite consuming raw tequila for lunch:
i assumed that it would be healthy because bonobo's was serving it. i did some quick research on google and found that the nectar from the agave plant is a natural sweetener:

"Agave syrup (or nectar) is about 90% fructose. Only recently has it come in use as a sweetener. It has a low glycemic level and is a delicious and safe alternative to table sugar. Unlike the crystalline form of fructose, which is refined primarily from corn, agave syrup is fructose in its natural form. This nectar does not contain processing chemicals. Even better, because fructose is sweeter than table sugar, less is needed in your recipes. It can be most useful for people who are diabetic, have insulin resistance (Syndrome X), or are simply watching their carbohydrate intake"
